Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

1. Who we are

Ohio Microbreweries ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at ohiomicrobreweries.com. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Contact us at support@herbdeliveries.com for any privacy-related enquiries.

2. Data we collect and why

We collect and process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so.

2a. Data you give us voluntarily

  • Brewery suggestions — when you submit the "Suggest a Brewery" form we collect the information you enter (brewery name, city, notes, and optionally your email address). Lawful basis: legitimate interests (improving our directory). We retain this data for directory review and follow-up; contact us to request deletion.

2b. Data collected automatically

  • Server logs — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamp) are used for security and debugging. Provider retention policies apply; we do not claim a verified fixed period. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • Optional Google Analytics — with your acceptance, we use our existing Google Analytics property to measure page visits and non-sensitive directory actions. We do not send raw search text, email addresses or form contents. Page URLs sent to Analytics exclude query strings; internal search and admin pages are not measured. We also load CJ affiliate page-impression tracking only after acceptance.

3. Cookies

We distinguish between essential cookies (required for the site to function) and optional / third-party cookies (set by external services you interact with).

Essential cookies

NamePurposeDuration
camicrobrew_cookie_consentStores your cookie consent choice (localStorage, not a cookie)Persistent until cleared

These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Third-party cookies — Booking.com

Google Analytics may set identifiers such as _ga after optional consent, typically for up to two years subject to the property configuration. Declining prevents loading Analytics and CJ page tracking. External affiliate and booking services apply their own policies when you leave the site.

This site participates in the Booking.com Affiliate Partner Programme. When you click a "Book on Booking.com" button you leave our site and are taken to Booking.com, which may set its own cookies on your device for booking, session management, fraud prevention, and affiliate attribution. We have no control over those cookies. Please review Booking.com's Privacy Policy for full details. Lawful basis for sharing your click with Booking.com: legitimate interests (affiliate revenue that funds this site) — and only once you actively click the button.

4. How we share your data

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share data only:

  • With Booking.com when you click a booking link (affiliate tracking as described above).
  • With hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • Where required by law (e.g. court order, regulatory demand).

5. International transfers

Our hosting infrastructure is located in the United States. If you are accessing the site from the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your data may be transferred to the US. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission as the transfer mechanism.

6. Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete your data where there is no compelling reason to continue processing it.
  • Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause processing your data.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Rights related to automated decision-making — we do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage (for the consent record) or contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@herbdeliveries.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EEA).

7. How to manage cookies

You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, or by visiting your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Note that refusing cookies will not affect your ability to browse our directory.

Most browsers also allow you to set preferences via: NAI Opt-Out or Your Online Choices (EU).

8. Data retention

  • Brewery suggestions are retained for directory review and follow-up. Contact us to request deletion; we do not promise an automatic deletion interval.
  • Hosting and service providers control operational log retention. We do not claim a verified fixed retention period.
  • Consent records (localStorage): until you clear your browser data.

9. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
